Relaxation: Surrounding your body with warm infrared light brings your mind to a state of ease.  A sauna session is a great opportunity to sit in mediation as well.

Anti-aging: Near-infrared has been shown to improve skin tone, firmness and elasticity. The Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy published a study showing significant improvements in skin appearance resulting from 12 weeks of consistent near-infrared therapy.
